As technologists, we tend to get very opinionated about our choices. When those choices are threatened, we feel threatened. The time we spent becoming an expert in something gave us a feeling of importance, self-worth, and security. As Platform Engineers, not only are we charged with building the future for our users, it's also our job to help them understand why they should adopt this new way of thinking, without judging them for using older techniques or methods. We're going to talk about some fundamental methods for working with human beings in times of uncertainty, and discover together how we can bring our users along the ride, with joy, instead of with fear.
